Is Singapore getting overpopulated? This question had hit the mind for quite a number of years now. Nevertheless it seems even more apparent now when those car drivers who get displaced join us the “commoners” on our way to and fro journey to our lovely workplaces in the peak hours.
The recent exponential increase of ERP gantries island wide have definitely created a stir among some dreamy motorists who had to squash their “5Cs” dream since owning a car in Singapore has just gotten more expensive (why? soon drivers in singapore will pay by blood to drive; if you get what i mean
)
Again, I can never stress enough that the rush hour crowd has increased at an alarming rate. These days on my way to work my nose practically gets glued to the train door. Meaning to say I stand right at the door step most days. And for desert, you get hooligans of the nation elbowing and kicking and rustling against you like you were a lampost. In fact I was elbowed while walking down an innocent isle near the mrt station. What is going on?
Someone please.
Well Singapore government has made the same mistake as a lot of small countries . Just think GDP not quality of life for its citizens , and GDP means having lots of workers ( mainly foreign) . Any country that cannot support itself the a large extent with water and food is bound to fail eventually . And relying on an export economy , expat management and investment has proved time and time again to be a bad direction to take.
And if the government members were that good , they would look at countries like the UK or France and see that long term immigration on a large scale does not work and creates all sorts of social problems and unrest
Singapore has become like a lot of cities , and overcrowded concrete jungle.
